Getting Started
Installation
Go to Outline to single Stroke plugin community page. Click on the ♥️ like and Install button, after which you will see the plugin appear in your design file, under Menu > Plugins > Outline to Single Stroke. (If it doesn’t appear, refresh the page)
Running the plugin
Open a design file, and select a filled vector on canvas with equal "stroke" weight, then press ⌘/ (ctrl / for Windows) on your keyboard, type in the name of the plugin:
outline to single stroke
then press the (tab) key︎.
Then you’ll be asked to input the factual Stroke weight of the selected vector(s) measured in pixels. If the value you entered is larger than the fact, the plugin will only prompt a warning upon run, if the value you entered is smaller than the fact, you will get suboptimal results. Press ↩︎ to execute.
4px
Tip: You don’t have to write the unit (px), just type in a number for simplicity.
Usage
Although the plugin will work on drawing(s) of any size, shape, stroke weight or aspect ratio, it does have limitations, for example it won’t work on multi-layered vector sets, nor on single-stroked vectors (as that’s the destination), also keep in mind that even the plugin will probably work on section-filled and/or varying stroke weight vectors, the result maybe dissatisfactory.
Do
Run on outlined vectors with a single line weight. The fewer vertices the better result.
Discretionary
The plugin is not designed to run on section filled or varying stroke weight vectors.
Don’t
Do NOT run on multi-layered and single stroked vectors.
Tip: You can re-execute the plugin using the shortcut ⌥⌘P (alt ctrl P for windows) from second time onward, the plugin will use the same stroke weight you entered last time.
